Ukrainian Church DC (UCDC) is a new church being planted in Washington, DC.
Our core team began gathering in 2026 to pray, build relationships, and lay the foundation for the church's future.
With our office located in Georgetown, Washington, DC, we are preparing to begin public gatherings in 2027, followed by regular worship services in 2028.
Our vision is to establish a Christ-centered church that equips people, develops leaders, and sends them to serve locally and around the world.
-
A. “Ukrainian” gives us a distinctive, recognizable identity and a natural point of connection. People who are Ukrainian, have served in Ukraine, support Ukrainian ministries, or simply want to learn about Ukraine can recognize an invitation to connect. The name is a strategic brand, not a restriction on whom we welcome or serve.
-
A. No. UCDC is a Christian church for people of every nationality and background. Americans, Mexicans, Ukrainians, and anyone else can belong, participate, lead according to biblical qualifications, and serve. Our common identity is in Christ, not in ethnicity.
-
A. No. We intend to be accessible across language and cultural backgrounds, with English-first communication and Ukrainian-language resources where helpful. Language is a means of hospitality and communication, not a test of belonging.
-
A. Our working public values are: Gospel before tradition; unity before preference; obedience before outcomes; service before status; and leadership before programs. These priorities help protect the church from cultural exclusivity, institutional self-interest, and program-driven activity.
-
A. It is a proposed course and a series of gatherings that invites pastors and leaders to participate in the actual planting of Ukrainian Church DC. Rather than asking people only to donate to a church plant, we invite them to learn, contribute, build relationships, and plant together.
-
A. Yes. Our intended model is comprehensive: a sending church partners with UCDC, and UCDC assumes leadership of the mission experience, from planning and preparation through coordinated ministry in Ukraine and follow-up. We are not simply a referral service.
-
A. Absolutely. That is part of the purpose of UCDC. A church can bring willing participants while UCDC contributes established relationships, cultural preparation, coordination, and mission leadership.
-
A. In our model, the mission begins before the team arrives in Ukraine. Participants connect with UCDC in Washington, DC, where they are welcomed, prepared, and formed into a team. We call it a Mission Intensive. Washington is part of the mission experience, not merely an airport connection.
-
A. The intended experience includes hospitality, team building, prayer and biblical preparation, Ukrainian history and cultural orientation, introductory language, ministry expectations, logistical briefings, and time to experience Washington. Specific agendas would be tailored to the team and mission.

A. Demkivtsi is a village in Western Ukraine and is intended to be UCDC’s enduring relational and operational anchor in Ukraine. The partnership gives visiting teams continuity, local relationships, ministry context, and a community to which we remain committed beyond any one trip.
